Scenic Rim Adventure Festival cancelled

Posted on 28.03.2022

Mt Barney Lodge Press Release
28/03/2022

It is with a heavy heart we share with you that the 2022 Scenic Rim Adventure Festival at Mt Barney will not be proceeding as planned for the 29th April – 2nd of May 2022.

Unfortunately, many people who help to stage the event are deep in flood recovery, having been directly affected by the floods in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. It is for this reason we have made a considered and empathetic decision to cancel the event.

If you have purchased festival passes you will receive a full refund. Our team will be in direct contact with you in regards to the refund process.

Mt Barney Lodge was not affected by the recent floods. Open 7 days a week, we continue to welcome guests seeking the great outdoors in the magnificent World Heritage Gondwana Rainforest region from the base of Mount Barney in Queensland’s Scenic Rim. Our grounds at Mt Barney Lodge are open for bookings for the Queensland Labour Day long weekend, 29th April – 2nd May 2022. Bookings can be made via www.mtbarneylodge.com.au.

I would like to personally extend a special thank you to all our potential visitors, guest speakers, suppliers and to our strategic partners, Tourism & Events Queensland, K2 Base Camp, Scenic Rim Regional Council and sponsors Australian Conservation Foundation, Adventure Entertainment, Far Outdoors and Challenge & Beauty.

May I especially recognise the incredible work undertaken by our festival team and volunteers.

On behalf of the Mount Barney Lodge family and team, I would particularly like to extend our thoughts to the communities who have been so tragically affected by the recent major flooding events across South East Queensland and New South Wales.

Yours faithfully,
Innes Larkin
Mt Barney Lodge
