The Abseiling Course provides in depth training and examination of the following skills:
- Equipment selection
- Knots
- Safety calls
- Rope management
- Anchor systems
- Practical abseiling skills
- Improvised descending system (Munter hitch etc)
- Self belay systems.
UNITS OF COMPETENCY
- SISOABS001 Abseil single pitches using fundamental skills
- SISOCLM002 Top rope climb single pitches, natural surfaces
- SISOABS003 Abseil single pitches, natural surfaces
A statement of attainment is issued if competency is achieved in both the practical and theoretical components.
