Count Her In. This theme aligns with the UN Women International Women’s Day theme and highlights the critical importance of women’s economic empowerment as central to realising women’s rights and gender equality.

All of us now have a role to play in working together as a community to achieve gender equality.

This theme is a call to action to ensure women and girls are counted and acknowledges the fundamental right of every woman and girl to equally participate in all areas of our society including education, the economy and workforce, politics and, importantly, at home.

International Women’s Day, held globally on 8 March each year, will be a highlight of Queensland Women’s Week. On that day, Queensland women join millions of others throughout the world to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future.
