The Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport is pleased to offer a Member Protection Information Officer virtual workshop to assist organisations understand their roles and responsibilities regarding member protection.
This session will be hosted by Morgan Lander, a specialist in risk management whose work focuses on pro-active education and training providing the sport and recreation sector with the education and skills they require to navigate a myriad of issues and reduce risk of harm to stakeholders

Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) – Virtual Workshop

This FREE course consists of the 7 online modules and 1 online facilitated workshop which need to be completed to become a recognised MPIO.
The online course modules include:
- The MPIO Role
- Complaint resolution procedures
- Member Protection and the Law
- Child Protection
- Harassment and Discrimination
- Ethical and Practical Considerations
The online facilitated workshop reinforces the key aspects of the MPIO role and provides practical examples to work through and discuss. A focus on the key communication skills required is explored.
