How to become a member

There are three ways you can become part of the Outdoors Queensland community:

  1. Become a financial member
  2. Subscribe to our eNewsletter
  3. Follow us on social media

How to become a member

Apply today and become a financial member of the Outdoors Queensland community – becoming a member of Outdoors Queensland means you are joining a community of people who enjoy, recreate and/or work in the outdoors.

This collectively amplifies our voice – the voice of the people of Queensland – to ensure that every Queenslander can access the outdoors regardless of their background or capacity – ultimately leading to a happier and healthier Queensland.

Other benefits of becoming a financial member are promotion of your business on your own Member Page (with an exclusive url you can share with your clients and customers), full inclusion in the Activity section of the website (where applicable), and use of the Outdoors Queensland member logo on your website and printed material. For more information on the benefits and expectations of being an Outdoors Queenslander including referral discounts, go to Benefits and Expectations.

Code of Ethics

All Outdoors Queensland members agree to abide by a Code of Ethics: the principles that outline the ethical standards that Outdoors Queensland expects its members to aspire to and adopt in order to guide their operations and decision-making. Outdoors Queensland members are commonly involved in activities and situations where people trust them to be professional and competent. It is imperative that Outdoors Queensland members conduct themselves, their businesses and activities in a way that upholds that faith and the professional reputation of the organisation.

The application process

The application process will guide you through a short series of questions that will identify which category you or your organisation fits best, and the right application form for your category.

The membership category structure looks like this:

See Please note below for further explanation.

Please note:

  • Membership fees are to be based on the number of employees engaged in the delivery of outdoor activities (including support staff for outdoor activities), rather than the total number of staff across an organisation and are an integral part of helping us help more people across Queensland and keeping the outdoors accessible to everyone.
  • An Affiliate (or Ordinary) member is defined by the Constitution as ‘Queensland-wide or National member-based organisations that represents a discrete (significant) portion of the outdoor activity spectrum’. The Constitution also notes that ‘two members of the Outdoors Queensland Board must be representatives of Affiliate Members’.
  • Confirmation that your membership application will be received with 5 – 7 working days from when your application and payment have been received – you will receive a password, a certificate, the Outdoors Queensland logo, a link to your new member page (for organisational applications) and an invitation to make full use of the opportunities Outdoors Queensland membership brings.
  • In the very unlikely event, your application is turned down when reviewed by the Outdoors Queensland Board, your payment will be fully refunded.
