This 3 day workshop focuses on developing the essential skills required for canoeing on both flat and moving water up to Grade 1. Students will learn paddling techniques, water safety, rescue techniques and how to navigate the waters, building a solid foundation for more advanced canoeing activities.
The holder of this qualification has demonstrated the skills and knowledge to personally paddle a Canoe on Flatwater areas such as lakes, dams, slow moving rivers, etc and up to Grade 1 water that is clearly moving and has hazards such as strainers and a degree of risk, but less than that of a Grade 2 river.
Learning Outcomes:
SISOCNE002: Paddle a canoe on flat water
SISOCNE003: Paddle a canoe on moving water up to grade 1 rivers
SISAQU020: Perform Water Rescues
