Outdoors Queensland is a limited liability company administered by the Board which consists of seven directors; four elected by the members (at least two elected directors must be representatives of Ordinary Members) and three appointed by ordinary resolution of the Directors.

President

Andrew Boyle
Coefficient

Andrew Boyle is the founder of Coefficient a recruitment company that provides support to outdoor and experiential program across Australia since 1993.  He has a broad and extensive understanding of the outdoor sector.

He is a passionate believer in the power that the outdoors has on peoples lives and the positive effect that it has on society in general.  He enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities including including climbing, hiking, paddling and camping. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Graduate Diploma of Outdoor Education.

From 2001 to 2020, Andrew served on the QORF Management Committee, in a range of roles, including as President. Andrew has been a Director of Outdoors Queensland Ltd since its formation on 8th December 2020.

Bec Fox

Bec is an avid adventurer, experienced outdoor education and camps manager, executive leadership coach and transformational mindset and cultural wellness expert.

Bec Fox is a highly respected executive leadership coach and business coach and a specialist in transformational mindset, personality profiling and cultural wellness. With 30 year’s experience in developing high quality outdoor education, personal development programs for schools, business development, leadership and high team performance. Bec has helped hundreds of businesses optimise performance, build high functioning teams, increase sales, manage growth and create transformational change within their organisation.

As an avid adventurer, Bec runs unique corporate adventures and retreats that bring the invaluable skills of leadership, collaboration and creative problem solving learnt in the wild, into the workplace to unlock the peak performance and productivity of each individual.

Bec is also a highly sought after speaker and corporate and school leadership program designer. Known for her passion, high energy and engaging style, Bec delivers powerful insights in the areas of teams, leadership and human psychology to shift perspectives, influence behaviour and create real transformation and change in business.

Bec has been on Boards for nearly 20 years, including QORF ( 9 years), Australian Camps Association (9 years including Presidency), Bendigo Community Bank (3 years), and the Outdoor Council of Australia for a short term whilst president of ACA. She has held executive leadership roles including NFP sector, outdoor education camps and the disability NDIS private multi-million dollar companies for 19 years.

Bec is a qualified Professional Executive Coach, Extended DISC Profiler and Trainer and Meta Dynamics 32 Profiler and is part of the International Coach Guild. She also has a Bachelor of Arts (Outdoor Education), Graduate Diploma Outdoor Education, Graduate Diploma in Education, Masters in Outdoor Education and a Diploma of Business.

Bec has developed two of her own businesses empowering executive leadership, delivering business coaching and facilitating corporate team events at Bec Fox Unleash Your Power. Another business is focused on inspiring women to live legendary dreams and live to their fullest potential through WILD n Fearless podcasts, life coaching, YouTube channel and retreats.

Vice President

Samantha Harris

Samantha is a highly experienced leader in the construction industry, specializing in distressed and complex projects. With a Masters in Construction Law, she has made a significant impact in the sector through her expertise and dedication. As the initiator and leader of corporate governance at a national construction advisory firm, Samantha has driven innovation and ensured high standards of governance in the industry.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Samantha is passionate about supporting grassroots sporting communities. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the Australian Climbing Association (QLD) and has been an active member of local sporting groups, including Sydney BMX.

Samantha’s leadership foundation was forged during her time in the Royal Australian Army (Reserves), where she served with the 22 Construction Regiment. Her experience in the military has shaped her disciplined approach to leadership and problem-solving.

Outside of her career, Samantha is an outdoor enthusiast, who values exploration and adventure, constantly seeking new challenges. With her strong leadership abilities, strategic insights, and commitment to community, Samantha brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to any board position.

Treasurer

Murray Stewart
Individual Member

Murray Stewart is a strategic, multidisciplinary administrator with an eye for innovation and a passion for the outdoors. He has worked in a gamut of locations and industries from the race department in Whistler Canada, to Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge, to Garapine Outdoor Education Centre and still struggles with sitting still in an office.

Murray possesses a Bachelor of Business and a MBA specialising in environmental management and sustainable development plus all the usual outdoor qualifications in mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, bushwalking, etc. Still a farm boy at heart Murray and his wife Natasha own a cattle property near Gympie and spend most weekends there with their 2 children. Murray’s hidden talent is an unexplained ability to aggravate horses and turn the mildest mannered pony into a rodeo bronc.

Peter Gould ESM
Scouts Queensland

Peter professionally is an Occupational Health Nurse and Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing Professional who heads up the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Enabling and Support Team for Urban Utilities a water and waste water utility business for 5 major communities in South East Queensland.

Peter is passionate about seeing workers have Good Work to do, Safe Workplaces to work in and be able to be healthy and well in the work they do.

Peter has a very long association with volunteer organisations including The Qld State Emergency Service, the Australian Defence Force Cadets, Surf Life Saving Qld, Royal Life Saving Qld, Australian Sailing and Scouts Queensland.

Peter is currently the Scouts Queensland Volunteer Assistant Chief Commissioner for Specialist Activities and leads the strategy for activity enhancements to the Youth Program on offer for young Queenslanders.

Peter is a proud member of the Scouts Australia National Training Team where he is a Volunteer Leader Trainer in a number of Adventurous Activities.

Peter is also a Scouts Queensland Volunteer Adventurous Activities Guide in a variety of land based and water based outdoor pursuits ensuring young Queenslanders have activity opportunities in the great outdoors.

Peter is heavily involved in the delivery of Adult Member Training and Adventurous Activity Training strategy for Scouts Australia where he holds the volunteer role of Assistant National Commissioner – Adult Training and Development.

Peter is the Scouts Australia Member Representative for the Outdoor Council of Australia.

Peter has previously been a Board Member of Yachting Queensland and the National and State President of the Corsair Sailing Dinghy Class Associations.

Peter remains heavily involved in the Sailing Community as an Australian Sailing Senior Instructor for Power Boating, a Regatta Race Officer and a Safety Equipment Auditor.

Peter has previously been a Commercial Paddling Guide with Redland Kayak Tours.

Peter holds formal qualifications Nursing, Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency and Disaster Management and Psychology and a variety of vocational qualifications in Public Safety, Leadership & Management, Outdoor Recreation and Maritime Operations.

Pete loves being on the water and feels very at home in his sea kayak paddling around on Moreton Bay and is a keen supporter of Adventure before Dementia as an ethos for life

Peter is currently the Scouts Queensland Branch Commissioner for Adventurous Activities where he oversees a Team of Volunteer Advisors and Trainers who lead the strategy and delivery of Outdoor Activities for the members of Scouts Qld.

Peter is heavily involved in the delivery of Outdoor Recreation Training through the Scouts Australia Institute of Training and delivers programs in a number of outdoor pursuit areas within the Nationally recognised Outdoor Recreation Qualifications.

Peter has previously been a Board Member of Yachting Queensland and the National and State President of the Corsair Sailing Dinghy Class Associations.

Graham Pringle
Appointed

Dr Graham Pringle is a Director of Youth Flourish Outdoors, the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, and the School of Therapeutic Practice. His business, The EMU Files, helps organisations to become holistically complex trauma-informed or human rights-based. With experience in Residential and Foster Care, Outdoor Education, Adventure-Based Youth Work, and Adult Training, Graham has worked outdoors with young people since 1985.

He has studied widely and holds a Doctor of Philosophy, Masters of Arts (Outdoor Education), Graduate Diploma in Social Science (Psychology), a Graduate Diploma in Education, and Diploma of Child Youth and Family Intervention.  Graham is a Friend of the Outdoor Therapy Centre and has published many articles and chapters. He enjoys exploring natural spaces in Qld, hiking and canoeing with his wife Janelle, and often with their dachshunds.

Darren Osmond
Trinity Anglican School

Darren Osmond has been working in the outdoor education and recreation field in Queensland for over 30 years, the first 8 being Government Tertiary Education and the next 22 being Independent Secondary and Primary Education.  He has been a senior leadership team member at Trinity Anglican School for 21 years, currently performing the executive role of Head of Experiential Learning, alongside the operational role of Head of Outdoor Education.

Darren has completed a Human Movement studies Degree from UQ then a Graduate Diploma in Outdoor Education from Griffith University.  He later completed a Graduate Bachelor of Education from JCU to move into the education field.

Having travelled to over 30 countries, Darren has worked with student groups in about 10 countries, mostly in the developing world.  This included working with several disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities and Indigenous education.

Darren has been involved in the Outdoor Educator’s Association of QLD since 1996, currently service as Vice President. He is one of the main conference convenors for the National Outdoor Education Conference in September 2026, to be hosted by Darren’s school.  Darren and his colleagues have presented at many regional, state and national conferences.

He first became involved with Outdoors Queensland (formerly QORF) in 2000 when being presented with an OQ award on behalf of Cairns TAFE.  Since then, Darren or his workplace has either been nominated or received OQ awards on at least 9 occasions.
