The YMCA believes that camping is all about challenging and inspiring through adventure.

Camp is often the first time away from home for many young people, and is an incredible opportunity for them to grow and to develop their leadership skills.

At the YMCA, camping is part of our DNA!  With more than 120 years’ of history in providing camping experiences for children and young people, the YMCA has developed a unique approach that we offer to Australian families and schools through four distinctively different YMCA camps in Brisbane (Camp Warrawee, Camp North Pine and Camp Bundalong) and Warwick (Camp Leslie Dam).

Who we are

The YMCA of Brisbane is a not-for-profit, community service organisation working to provide opportunities for all people to grow in body, mind and spirit.

Who we cater for

At YMCA camping we cater for all groups, including:

  • Primary school camps
  • High school camps
  • Sports clubs and team training camps
  • Community group camps
  • Social group camps
  • Church group camps
  • Seminar and conferences
  • Special events e.g. family reunions

Five reasons to choose YMCA Camping

  1. We develop individualised camp programs to achieve the outcomes you want from your camp experience. Each camp is carefully programmed to ensure you maximise your time at camp and gain the best possible outcomes.
  2. YMCA camp activities focus on the holistic development of self by incorporating body, mind and spirit. Only when you consider the whole person, does long-term personal change and growth occur.
  3. YMCA Camping fosters a culture of respect for self, respect for others and respect for the environment. Respect helps develop pride and confidence in self.
  4. The YMCA is an accredited Child Safe Organisation through the Australian Childhood Foundation. All our staff hold Blue Cards, have undergone extensive training in Child Safety, and follow our strict Code of Conduct, ensuring the safest environment for your students.
  5. The YMCA is a not-for-profit organisation that runs a wide range of social impact programs. When you attend a YMCA Camp, you directly support the YMCA in providing these much needed programs and services.
