Our courses are scenario based which means you get hands on experience to prepare you for the real thing. They are fun, practical and very comprehensive. We use fake blood and make up to give the realistic effect.
Topics include:
- Patient Assessment
- Basic Life support (CPR, AED)
- Traumatic Injuries- Spinal Injury (including Spinal clearance assessment), Head Injury, Bleeding and Basic Wound Management
- Musculoskeletal Injuries (Fractures, Disclocations & Soft tissue- includes relocating dislocations, re-alignment of angulated fractures.)
- Environmental Injuries
- Bites & Stings
- Medical Emergencies
- Long term patient care
- Aeromedical Evacuation
- Medical Legal Issues
This course includes the following nationally recognised units of competency:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
- HLTAID013 Provide first aid in remote or isolated site
- HLTAID014- Provide Advanced First Aid
- HLTAID015- Provide Advanced Resuscitation & Oxygen Therapy

Duration: 5 days face to face (including a night scenario on day 4. *Online pre-course study required.)
