What You’ll Master at Klepper Training Academy’s Wilderness First Aid Course!
- Understand and Evaluate:
- Develop the expertise to assess potential injuries and illnesses in the challenging terrains of wilderness, isolated, and remote settings.
- Select and Check Equipment:
- Learn to choose the right first aid equipment and communication tools for isolated destinations, conducting pre-departure safety checks on essential gear.
- ⚠️ Hazard Identification and Management:
- Gain the skills to promptly identify and manage hazards, ensuring a safe environment for yourself and others.
- Triage and Multiple Casualty Management:
- Efficiently perform triage, assess casualty conditions, and manage multiple casualties, directing and coordinating resources effectively.
- Effective Communication:
- Master the art of communicating with emergency services, relaying accurate information, and ensuring seamless coordination.
- Comprehensive First Aid:
- Provide thorough first aid using available equipment and resources, monitoring, documenting, and responding to a casualty’s condition effectively.
- Casualty Interaction:
- Communicate with casualties for understanding and reassurance, ensuring their comfort through proper questioning, monitoring, and resource utilisation.
- Medication Administration:
- Administer necessary medication based on medical instructions with precision and confidence.
- Evacuation Coordination:
- Determine and coordinate evacuation needs with external services, assisting emergency services during evacuations and locating incident sites.
- Post-Incident Debriefs:
- Participate in post-incident debriefs, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to continuous learning.
- Emergency Procedures Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with organisational emergency procedures, including reporting and media communications.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded the following skill sets and Units of Competency (UOC):
SISSS00126 – Wilderness First Aid:
- HLTAID011 – Provide first aid.
- SISOFLD004 – Provide first aid in remote locations.
- SISXEMR002 – Coordinate emergency responses.
Additional UOC:
- SISXEMR004 – Coordinate emergency responses.
- HLTAID013 – Provide first aid in remote or isolated site.
- HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Trust in excellence. As a registered training organisation (RTO 45075), we specialise in Emergency Response and First Aid Training. Aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, our courses result in statements of attainment reflecting National Units of competency.

Please Note: As part of the course fee, campsite costs are covered, however, the activity is not catered. Students will be required to bring their own meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) with only light refreshments provided.
