Churchie Outdoor Education strives to have a positive impact on the lives of boys through experiential and outdoor challenges.
All boys in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 spend several days each year attending Outdoor Education programs and expeditions at a range of locations.
The courses take place generally in beautiful, wild and mountainous country with great care taken to pass on the need for environmentally friendly behaviour and minimal impact practices. Independence, initiative and responsibility are also emphasised.
Camps are staffed by a team of experienced outdoor education teachers employed by Churchie, who aim to provide positive and challenging experiences in a framework of safety, as well as a familiar social environment within which teacher-student relationships and social and emotional education outcomes can best be achieved. Qualified outdoor instructors support these teachers when required.
