Active Queenslanders Industry Alliance
The Active Queenslanders Industry Alliance is the peak body for workforce development of our industry in Queensland and works to deliver tangible benefits to help sustain and grow Queensland’s fitness, sport and active recreation sectors.
The Active Queenslanders Industry Alliance works closely with peak bodies, industry organisations and associations, employers and individuals to ensure we are the voice of the industry in relation to the skills and training needs and other workforce development issues.

The locally owned (Brisbane) and run K2 Base Camp has been helping adventurers experience, explore and succeed for 30 years now with a passionate team and top quality climbing gear. The K2 team are only genuine outdoor enthusiasts – people “who live it, breathe it, talk it, and know it inside out”. K2 has become a Brisbane institution for those at home in the outdoors, local adventure-seekers and a myriad of backpackers and explorers alike.
The Heart Foundation
For 60 years the Heart Foundation has been helping improve heart health across the nation through funding life-saving heart research and working to improve heart disease prevention and care for all Australians.

The ‘not-for-profit’ Australian Camps Association (ACA) is the national peak body for camps and associated providers. We strongly believe that participation in supported outdoor experiences through residential camps and led adventure activities leads to happier and healthier lives.
Outdoor Council of Australia
The Outdoor Council of Australia (OCA) is the national peak body advocating for and representing organisations and individuals that employ outdoor adventure activities for the purposes of: Recreation, Education, Tourism, Personal development and Corporate development.
Outdoor Educators Association of Queensland
The Outdoor Educators Association of Queensland (OEAQ) was established in 1981 to represent the interests of individuals and organisations involved in Outdoor Education and to encourage and lead the development of professional practice in Outdoor Education in Queensland.
Outdoors Victoria is the peak body for all Outdoor activities in Victoria and exists to support the Outdoors Community, to advocate the benefits of outdoor activity to the broader community. Their purpose is to build a valued and sustainable outdoor sector for the benefit of the community and natural environment by enhancing, connecting, and advocating on behalf of outdoor education, outdoor recreation, outdoor therapy and nature based tourism.
Outdoors NSW & ACT
Outdoors NSW & ACT is recognised by the NSW Government as the peak body for the outdoor professionals, organisations and associations in NSW & the ACT. The organisation advocates for adventure activity standards, safety and practices. Outdoors NSW & ACT promotes greater participation in the outdoors for all through promotion of outdoor experiences.
A member-based not-for-profit, Outdoors NSW & ACT receives government funding and partnership assistance to support our members. Outdoor NSW & ACT promotes the benefits of: Adventure Tourism, Nature Therapy, Outdoor Education and Outdoor Recreation

Nature Play QLD
Nature Play QLD’s mission is to increase the time Queensland kids spend in unstructured play outdoors and in nature. It is founded on the understanding that unstructured play outdoors – nature play – is fundamental to a full and healthy childhood.
Nature play promotes health benefits, including cognitive, social and emotional development, and it builds resilience and creativity as well. Experiences in nature as a child also leads to environmental awareness and stewardship later in life.

Australian Climbing Association (QLD)
ACAQ is the peak body for recreational climbing in Queensland, and is recognized as such by QPWS.
- We are members of QORF, which is the overall peak body for outdoor recreational activity in Queensland.
- We are funded by a combination of direct membership and associate membership through the major climbing clubs.
- We strive to legitimise the climbing community as valid stakeholders in plans impacting outdoor recreational spaces.
- We strive to establish the channels of communication necessary for the climbing community to be heard on land access issues
Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy
The Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy Inc. is a professional body for practitioners who have an interest in supporting, developing and promoting the field of Bush Adventure Therapy in Australia. The breadth of our work is guided by our intended actions document. We encourage interested persons to connect with the association and get involved in the many areas of work the association is engaged with.

Outdoors WA is the leading body for the outdoor sector in Western Australia, including camping, outdoor recreation and outdoor education.
The mission of Outdoors WA is to provide advocacy, leadership and support to the WA outdoor sector.
Outdoors WA is a non-profit organisation committed to supporting the outdoor sector in fostering the provision of safe, high quality outdoor programs in Western Australia. It represents people and organisations involved in campsites, camping, outdoor recreation, outdoor education, adventure and recreation camps in Western Australia. Members include teachers, commercial operators, community groups and individuals involved in the delivery of outdoor programs.
Health & Wellbeing Queensland
Health and Wellbeing Queensland was established in July 2019 to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders and reduce health inequities. We work in partnership with others to reduce risk factors that lead to chronic diseases. We have been given a mandate to develop a new way of working that requires innovation, partnerships and an element of risk-taking that government is not well placed to deliver.

Parks & Leisure Australia is the leading industry association for professionals in the sector.

Motorcycling Queensland, affiliated with the national body of Motorcycling Australia, is the controlling body for motorcycling sport and recreation in Queensland is the state controlling body for motorcycle sport and recreation in Queensland – dirt track, enduro, trials, motocross, speedway, road race. Queensland Moto Park at Wyaralong near Boonah, is managed by Motor Cycling Queensland
Jump Up Outdoors
Jump Up Outdoors is a unique program that gets kids playing outdoors, away from screens and having fun.
Jump Up Outdoors provides enticing outdoor play environments, with a wide variety of upcycled loose materials and then the children do what they do best…play! The result is hours and hours of unstructured play in which children imagine, create, develop their interests and passions and follow their instincts.
Jump Up Outdoors programs have been developed by a paediatric occupational therapist with over 25 years experience.
Queensland Walks is a community-based membership organisation and volunteer group set up to improve conditions for walking in Queensland.
Through advocacy, education, campaigns or coordinating local groups, we believe that by harnessing interest in walking we’ll have a stronger voice and force to achieve change.
Organised by people who believe that walking can make a positive change to individuals and communities.
Queensland Walks is the peak body for walking, providing a strong voice at the local council and state government level.
