Management, coordination, development and promotion of canoeing in Queensland.

Paddle Queensland (formerly known as Queensland Canoeing) is the state body responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of canoeing in Queensland.

The Association represents the interests of canoeists to all tiers of government, the public and Paddle Australia (Australian Canoeing) and is committed to the provision of the highest standard of competition, safety, coaching, and the opportunity for participation at all levels. Any constituted organisation with an interest in canoeing may apply to Queensland Canoeing Inc. to become an affiliated club.

BACKGROUND
Queensland Canoeing Incorporated formally began in 1962 as a result of many paddlers wishing to represent their own state in competitions. It grew from an active, largely recreational base and the ‘Queensland Canoe Club’ that existed in the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s receiving incorporation in 1964.

Queensland Canoeing has a membership of over 1200 members, and has 26+ affiliated clubs. Canoeing and kayaking are exciting sports, offering participants the opportunity to choose from a variety of disciplines.

Paddle Queensland Education Courses
Paddle Queensland offers a range of Leader Training and Assessment courses for people seeking professional certification in paddling environments. The Australian Canoeing Award Scheme is the industry benchmark certification designed to meet the needs of the canoeing and kayaking industry for education, recreational and tourism sectors nationwide.
