Trails to the Future: Connection, Culture & Conservation
This powerful theme highlights the evolving role of trails as catalysts for environmental stewardship, cultural understanding, and global connection—celebrating the way trails link people, place, and purpose.
Whether you’re a trail manager, tourism operator, community leader, or conservation advocate, the World Trails Conference offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with international trail experts, experience Western Australia’s world-class landscapes, and be part of shaping the future of trails worldwide.
Your registration includes access to an extensive conference program featuring 97 speakers, 65 sessions, interactive workshops, networking functions, an exhibition, technical tours and optional pre- and post-conference experiences showcasing Western Australia’s world-class trail destinations.
Conference highlights will include:
- Renowned Keynote Speakers: International and local trail experts sharing insights on trail tourism, technology, trail development, maintenance and management, Indigenous knowledge, and environmental stewardship.
- James Castrission – Drawing on his record-breaking unsupported expedition across Antarctica, James will share powerful lessons on resilience, collaboration and leadership—qualities essential for delivering ambitious trail projects, building partnerships and navigating complex challenges.
- Jayden Boundry – Through Noongar culture, language and storytelling, Jayden will explore the deep connection between people and Country, offering valuable perspectives on embedding First Nations knowledge, cultural authenticity and meaningful place-based experiences into trail and visitor experiences.
- Beau Miles – One of Australia’s most recognised adventurers and filmmakers, Beau will challenge delegates to think differently about why people connect with the outdoors, inspiring new ways to create trails and experiences that encourage exploration, curiosity and lasting connections with nature.
- Immersive Experiences: Guided trail walks, pre-conference tours, and opportunities to explore WA’s iconic landscapes.
- Networking & Knowledge Sharing: Bringing together trail managers, policymakers, researchers, and outdoor industry professionals.
- Sponsorship & Partnerships: Engaging with businesses, tourism operators, and government agencies to strengthen global trail networks.
