The Surf for Life Project And Surf Dive ‘N Ski Team Up To Help Get Underprivileged Kids Surfing

Surfing Australia is proud to announce that Surf Dive ‘N Ski (SDS) and the Surf for Life Project have teamed up to make waves by helping underprivileged kids surf for life.

As part of the new partnership, SDS aimed to raise $25,000 in 2016, a goal they surpassed by reaching $28,944.

SDS donated $2 from select kids’ items and rashies across Christmas to help raise funds for the Project.

“Using surfing to enrich and create change in the lives of Australians doing it a bit tough was at the very core of the Surf Dive ‘n Ski culture from its beginnings in 1964,” said Surf Dive N Ski General Manager David Keay. Today and into the future,  Surf Dive ‘n Ski are committed to continuing that legacy.

“We are deeply passionate about the Surf for Life Project, and are so proud to be a partner to Surfing Australia in this unique and genuine initiative. We were stoked to surpass the original Christmas goal of $25,000 and look forward to helping bring this life-changing experience to thousands more kids in the future.

The Surf for Life Project was developed by Surfing Australia to enable underprivileged kids from all around Australia to experience the joy of surfing for the very first time. In just over 3 years, the Project has assisted more than 3000 kids aged 5-12.

Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark said “The Surf for Life project is a program that Surfing Australia are extremely proud of as it represents the essence of our organisational purpose to create a healthier and happier Australia through surfing.”

“We sincerely thank Surf Dive n Ski and their valued customers for their support which have helped to raise valuable funds that will allow underprivileged kids the opportunity to experience surfing. We know when these kids experience surfing it can often be a life changing experience.”
