About the Awards

The Awards of Excellence showcase the excellent work of parks and leisure professionals who deliver enormous benefit to our communities.  Finalists are announced at events held across the country with national winners announced at the prestigious Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner held next year at the prestigious Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne 16th October, 2018.

The Frank Stewart Distinguished Service award is the longest standing award and introduced by the Australian Leisure Institute. Laurie Boyd was the first recipient.  Named after a the former Federal Minister for Tourism and Recreation, this is the most prestigious individual award bestowed by Parks and Leisure Australia. Congratulations to our 2017 Award winner Penny Davidson.
