Update
Recent restrictions announced by the Premier and Chief Health Officer include mandatory mask wearing in specific areas of South East Queensland and occupant density requirements of 1 person per 4 square metres from 1am Tuesday, June 29.
Given that announcement, Outdoors Queensland is urgently seeking a response from Queensland Health on the following:
Occupant density, especially for outdoor education centres
If the new 1 per 4 square metre density rule is applied to groups of school-aged children, it will cause significant issues for outdoor education centres.
Unintended tightening of density limits for indoor accommodation (sleeping/dining) of school-aged children in outdoor education settings.Restricted business, activity or undertaking
Confirmation that providing outdoor accommodation, such as in tents, is not a restricted business, activity or undertaking?Collection of contact tracing information
Accompanying adults providing information on behalf of a school group.
Collecting contact details as per the revoked industry plan for outdoor education providers.
Bulk data upload into the Check In Qld app for large group.
Outdoors Queensland and Sport & Recreation are working hard to address these issues and will keep the outdoor sector informed as new information becomes available.
