YFO Wins Prestigious NFP Organisation Award

Youth Flourish Outdoors wins Queensland Mental Health Week Achievement Award

We are delighted to announce that Outdoors Queensland member, Youth Flourish Outdoors, has been awarded the Not-For-Profit Organisation Award – SME (1-100 Staff) at the Queensland Mental Health Week Achievement Awards, hosted by Open Minds.

This award is a testament to YFO’s dedication to providing trauma-informed outdoor therapy for children and young people. By fostering social inclusion and supporting mental health recovery, YFO’s programs have made a tangible difference in the lives of Queenslanders living with mental illness.

YFO’s work is centered around a phased trauma-informed approach, empowering young people to uncover their strengths, develop self-identity, and build a sense of belonging.

Through both group and individual sessions, as well as therapeutic camps, YFO delivers life-changing interventions that enhance mental health and wellbeing. Our approach prioritizes best practices in trauma care, while also promoting collaboration with families, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support.

This award recognizes YFO’s leadership, innovation, and vision for the future of mental health services in Queensland. As an unfunded service, the impact YFO has created reflects our unwavering commitment to making quality mental health services accessible to young people, even in the most challenging of circumstances.
