Research into the perceived risk of Adventure Outdoor Programs

You are invited to participate in a survey aimed at understanding the perceptions the general public holds with regard to risk in outdoor adventure recreation. So far, all research has looked at participants in specific activities but we have no real idea to what extent the wider public participates in such activities and how the wider public perceives associated risks.

To this end A/Prof Dirk HR Spennemann (Institute for Land, Water and Society, Charles Sturt University) has designed a survey that his students are administering to their peers and that he is administering to other segments of the population in order to ensure a broad coverage of gender, age and cultural background. The background to the project as well as the participant information sheet can be found here: http://csusap.csu.edu.au/~dspennem/Risk/RiskProject.html.

It would be very advantageous to poll the perceptions of those involved in the delivering the industry product(s). This is where you come in. Please consider participating in the survey.

The online form should take about 20-30 minutes to complete.

Here is the relevant Survey Monkey link:

Dirk is fully aware that it is a complex and detailed questionnaire, but this is necessary in order to be able to carry out a nuanced analysis.

Please consider participating.

Thank you
