Biosecurity Grants Now Open.

The Department of Primary Industries has opened a new round of biosecurity grants, with funding of $15,000 to $30,000 available for projects that improve awareness, capability and innovation in Queensland’s biosecurity system.

The Enhancing Biosecurity Capability and Capacity Grants Program supports initiatives that help prevent, prepare for, detect and respond to biosecurity risks across Queensland’s landscapes, industries and communities.

Organisations within the outdoors and recreation sector may be well placed to apply. Eligible projects could include initiatives that reduce the spread of invasive weeds and pests through outdoor recreation activities.  Relevant activities such as bushwalking, camping or trail use, or projects that educate participants on best-practice biosecurity behaviours.

Funding can be used for a wide range of activities, including education, training, engagement, tools, trials and on-ground actions that strengthen Queensland’s biosecurity outcomes.

Applications are now open.
