An opportunity to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures & achievements

Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the postponement of NAIDOC Week to 8-15 November, the local grant round had been put on hold.

NAIDOC Local Grants offer an opportunity for community groups to organise activities that celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, achievements, and our continuing contributions to our country and society.

The NAIDOC Local Grants support all activities, big and small. The majority of grants are for amounts of $500 to $1,000.

All activities will need to meet government guidance aimed at reducing the risks associated with COVID-19, including requirements for physical distancing. The Grant Opportunity Guidelines have information on requirements for grant applicants due to COVID-19. Please review this information before applying.

Think about activities that can be held that protect our Elders and our Community. Let’s keep our mob safe.

The NAIDOC Local Grants are administered by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).

Organisations that submitted an application for the NAIDOC Local Grants Round that closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions will need to submit a new application. These organisations should have received a copy of their previous application from NIAA to refer to in preparing their new application.

The application package is published on Grant Connect and includes information on eligibility and guidance on how to apply. If you have any general queries, please email NAIDOCgrants@niaa.gov.au or contact your NIAA Regional Office.

This is your chance to make NAIDOC Week part of your community.

Applications close Monday 17 August 2020 at 7pm AEST.
