Approved recipients announced.

Outdoors Queensland / QORF welcomes the announcement of the recipients of the Sport and Recreation Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund.

We are pleased to see that some of this funding has been allocated to clubs providing outdoor recreation opportunities to Queenslanders. We haven’t reviewed the entire list of successful applications, but the range of activities covered is impressive. Funding will go towards horse-riding, paddling (canoeing, kayaking, dragon boating), MTB/cycling, triathlon, running, shooting, climbing, motorcycling, four wheel driving, sailing, hang-gliding, scuba diving, archery, sky diving, waterskiing/wakeboarding, among others.

Well done to the volunteers and staff from clubs who applied for this funding.

We look forward to seeing increased participation in outdoor activities as a result of this investment in our communities.

About the Fund

The Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund supports the sport and active recreation community to restart activities as COVID-19 restrictions ease. The program is part of the Sport and Recreation COVID SAFE Restart Plan.

The Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund (Recovery Fund) provides not-for-profit sport and active recreation organisations with targeted funding for minor upgrades, repairs or maintenance works and equipment that will assist them to re-establish their operations.

The Recovery Fund will be divided equally between Regional Queensland (50%) and South East Queensland (50%) to ensure support is distributed across Queensland communities.

Over 1,750 sport and active recreation organisations have been approved funding of $15.5 million to support their activities and encourage the community to re-engage with physical activity.

Congratulations to the volunteers and staff from clubs who applied for this funding.

We look forward to seeing increased participation in outdoor activities as a result of this investment in our communities.
