Outdoors Queensland is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Program Coordinator for the new Outdoors For Life (OFL) Program. The program aims to promote active children, youth and families across all life stages, for a healthier Queensland.

Outdoors Queensland is the peak body for the outdoor sectors in Queensland. We are a member-based non-profit organisation which represents a range of outdoor industry stakeholders, including local governments, schools with outdoor education programs, small businesses and commercial operators, activity-focused peak bodies, clubs, community organisations and individuals.

We are passionate about getting Queenslanders outdoors and our mission is to ensure that all people have opportunities to create connections with Queensland’s outdoors. Our vision is to create a world in which the outdoors is a vital part of every healthy life – a healthy world comes from a balanced life, incorporating outdoor activities for all people.

The Outdoors For Life Program (OFL) mission is to increase Queensland children and youths’ physical literacy through outdoor recreation. It is founded on the understanding that regardless of their background, children and youth are provided with opportunities to develop physical literacy skills so that they can experience the benefits of being healthy and active through every stage of their life.

The primary objective of the role is the development of the Outdoor For Life Program.

The position is part-time (22.8hrs/3 days week) and fixed term for 38 weeks.   The role is to be based in our Milton office, with ‘Work From Home’ arrangements available.

OFL have developed four clear and actionable objectives to plan a coordinated approach in achieving the OFL program activities, these are detailed in the position description.

We are seeking a person with experience in some or all of the following:

  • organizational development
  • outdoor recreation
  • communications
  • program development
  • physical literacy
  • event management

The role is ideal for someone with a personal passion for the outdoors with good time management and administration skills.
