Evolving bit by bit!

Bit by bit, the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail (BBIRT) is evolving, with the latest development being the installation of steel bridge decks over the existing timber trusses.
The two newly decked and railed bridges near the township of Many Peaks have been completed and reopened to trail users, eliminating the need for riders to drop into often-flooded gullies and creating a more continuous riding experience.
The bridge works were funded by the Queensland Government and secured through the persistent toil of the volunteer-run BBIRT committee.
When eventually complete, the BBIRT will stretch 270 kilometres, making it Australia’s longest rail trail. (read more)
