Health and Wellbeing Queensland has officially launched A Better Choice Food and Drink Supply Strategy

Posted on 25.07.2023

Health and Wellbeing Queensland has officially launched A Better Choice Food and Drink Supply Strategy for Queensland Sport and Recreation Facilities.  The aim of the Food and Drink Supply Strategy is to create a better balance in the availability and promotion of healthier food and drink options in sport settings across Queensland.

The strategy will roll out across Queensland sport clubs and arenas, recommending organisations make small achievable changes across four areas: healthy drinks, healthy snacks, healthier meals and options beyond the menu.

Organisations can access the tools and resources needed to give their members, players and visitors healthier food options through the stakeholder kit and resources developed to support them with the implementation of the strategy.  These resources are available on the website A Better Choice for Sport and Recreation website.  A Healthy Eating policy template is also available under the ‘Promoting healthier options’ resources section https://hw.qld.gov.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/A-Beter-Choice_Sport_Healthy-Eating-policy.docx.
