Teenage sailors rescue kayakers

South Passage crew rescue from crocodile-prone NQ channel

A recent ABC News story tells of how the teenage crew of the South Passage, a youth sail training vessel, rescued two kayakers from choppy, crocodile-prone waters near Hinchinbrook Island. A woman had been in the water for several hours and unable to get back into her kayak was later taken to Cairns Hospital suffering the early signs of hypothermia.
