The decision to select an award winner is never easy and more so when faced with the exceptional quality of nominations this year. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists in the 2016 Queensland Outdoor Recreation Awards

The Brisbane City Council Award for Outstanding Achievement (Organisation)

The Queensland Government Award for Outdoor Places and Spaces
Winner: Castle Hill Blackstone Reserve, Ipswich City Council

The Queensland Outdoor Recreation Achievers Award

  • Adventure Alternatives – winner of the Environmental Award in 2011, Outstanding Organisation in 2012 & 2016
  • Ipswich City Council – winner of the Government Achievement in 2013 & 2015, Outdoor Places and Spaces Award in 2016

The Queensland Outdoor Recreation Awards recognise and reward excellence in the outdoor recreation community. The Awards celebrate individuals and organisations that have been successful in significantly improving outdoor recreation outcomes for participants and clients.

The Awards are an important means of recognising the size and diversity of the outdoors community and industry and provide an opportunity for outdoor individuals and organisations to be rewarded and recognised for their contribution. They are also a means of recognising how important activity in the outdoors is to the lifestyle of Queenslanders.
