Drowning Reports Released

Two Queensland drowning tragedies!

Two recent ABC News stories on the findings following investigation into two Queensland drownings.

Two Japanese students died in Lake McKenzie, K’gari while on an exchange program to Australia. Both the Japanese supervising teacher and the Australian based tour company have fined over the incident. Read the Full Story.

A state coroner has ruled that a youth worker was right not to physically restrain a child from entering the Cedar Creek Falls, Gold Coast swimming area where he eventually drowned.  The inquest into the death was told that youth workers can physically restrain a young person only if they are at immediate risk of danger.
