Consultation now open!
Queensland Government is seeking our ideas on a new sport strategy to shape the next 10 years
For the strategy, “sport” means all aspects of physical activity, including the wonderful world of outdoor activities.
The government webpage says:
We want to build on our successes and hear how we can support all Queenslanders to have the confidence and knowledge to be active at all stages in life, and to make sport more inclusive and accessible.
We’re inviting individuals, clubs, communities and the sport industry to have their say on how we can:
- help more Queenslanders be active, no matter their background, ability or location
- improve use of local places and spaces
- support community sport and encourage people to volunteer
- attract and deliver world-class sporting events
- build a strong, inclusive and innovative active industry
- make the most of the opportunities Brisbane 2032 brings.
Outdoors Queensland strongly encourages everyone to contribute to this new strategy, which replaces the Activate! Queensland 2019-2029 strategy. Outdoors Queensland will contribute to this process in various ways, but we need you to do your part.
Consultation is now open and will close on Sunday 15th June 2025.
For you to do:
- Check out the ‘What does 2032 mean for you?’ discussion paper
- An online survey will be available for completion by individuals or on behalf of an organisation – we will advise when that survey is available.
- Make a written submission to sportstrategy@dtis.qld.gov.au
- Attend one of the regional consultation sessions at Emerald, Cairns, Townsville and Mackay – details available on the website
