Recognition in 2022 Australia Day Honours List

Congratulations!

Outdoors Queensland would like to announce that staff member and previous Board Member, Angela Wright, has been recognised with a 2022 Australia Day Honour. Angela received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to recreation and sport on 26 January 2022.

Angela’s career and service has been spread over 42 years and across a number of voluntary and paid positions (see below).

She is currently the Program Manager of Outdoors Queensland and President of the not-for-profit organisation Queensland Walks.

“It is an honour and a privilege to be recognised by the Governor General and her peers”, said Angela. “I am humbled to receive this recognition and thanks those who took the time to make and contribute to the application process”

Order of Australia

The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for achievement or meritorious service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on the advice of the Australian Government. Before the establishment of the order, Australian citizens received British honours.
