Nominations for Technical Working Groups, News and Updates

Revised presentation of the Australian AAS

Public consultations have raised issues with the presentation of the Australian AAS. Work on how to improve the presentation and address that feedback has taken over a year.

The revised presentation of the AAS has now been finalised.

To summarise the main change, the presentation is now:

  • ‘Australian AAS – Standard’ – “the Standard”
  • A ‘Core Good Practice Guide’ – guidance that supports “the Standard”
  • The “activity” ‘Good Practice Guides’ – each activity to have its own good practice guide (GPG).

Nominations

Call for nominations for members of 4 new technical working groups

The Australian AAS Steering Committee is now seeking nominations to be members of 4 separate Technical Working Groups (TWG) to draft ‘Good Practice Guides’ for:

Nominations are being sought from people with broad expertise and experience in any of these activities. Experience in leadership of the particular activity with dependent participants is essential.

Inland Water Paddle-Craft

Inland Water Paddle-Craft ‘good practice guide’ released for public comment

The draft Good Practice Guide (GPG) for ‘Inland Water Paddle-Craft’ has been released for public comment. Members of the outdoors community can download the draft and have their say by visiting yoursay.australianaas.org.au/inland-water-paddle/

Feedback submissions close on the 15 Oct 2018 (9.00am AEDT)

Challenge Courses and Canyoning

Upcoming Public Consultation on Challenge Courses and Canyoning Good Practice Guides

The Technical Working Groups are still completing the Drafts but these should be be released for Public Consultation later this year.

Project extension until Sept 2019
