Blue Card compliance audit of camp programs

Posted on 03.03.2020

In November 2019 the Blue Card Compliance team audited various organisations to ensure child-safe policies and procedures were in place to keep kids safe while they had fun at holiday camp programs.

28 child and youth risk management strategies were reviewed. Organisations responded with a high level of compliance ensuring appropriate policies and procedures were in place to keep kids safe.

During this audit, the team:

  • confirmed that no known high risk persons (such as suspended/cancelled card holders or disqualified individuals) were providing regulated services to children through the audited organisations
  • checked the blue card status and records of 2,046 individuals and engaged in over 150 separate interventions with organisations.

Engaging with organisations to review their records through proactive audit requests builds organisational capacity to self-manage their obligations and responsibilities.
