School Student Seriously Injured in High Ropes Incident During School Camp

Posted on 24.05.2018

On behalf of all members, supporters and the whole outdoor sector in Queensland, the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation (QORF) expresses its deep concern, and subsequent wishes for a full recovery for the young person seriously injured while participating in a high ropes course during a school camp at Woodford on Wednesday 23 May 2018. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, school community and all involved in the incident, including the staff and management of Adventure Alternatives, and all who responded.

At this stage, we are aware a full investigation is being conducted and as such, QORF will not speculate about the specific details. When all the facts are known, QORF will work with all its members to learn all lessons resulting from this terrible incident and where required, enact any changes to prevent a re-occurrence.

QORF Executive Officer, Dom Courtney – eo@qorf.org.au
