Sport and Recreation Disaster Recovery Program
Now OPEN
Posted on 04.01.2024
The Queensland Government’s Sport and Recreation Disaster Recovery Program is now open for applications from clubs in eligible affected areas. The program supports not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations with funding to re-establish their facilities and activities after extreme natural events, including floods, fire, cyclones and severe storms.
Funding of up to $5000 may be available for eligible sport and active recreation organisations located in areas declared under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). Where the organisation’s LGA is listed under categories for “Personal Hardship Assistance” or “Reconstruction of Essential Public Assets”, funding will be available for application up to 3 months from the latest activation date of the event.
All current Local Government Areas identified for support are listed on the Program website and will be updated in alignment with advice from the Queensland Reconstruction Authority.
For more information including the program guidelines visit the website to check your club’s eligibility, read the program guidelines, familiarise yourself with the application process, and then get your application in.
Remember, safety is a top priority!
Follow local authorities’ advice and assess damages only when it’s safe to do so.
