Ensuring that women are represented at all levels of leadership

As part of the Queensland Government’s commitment to ensuring that women are represented at all levels of leadership, including on boards and committees, the Premier is hosting Inspire and Inform: The Premier’s Women on Boards event on Wednesday 29 August from 12-2pm.

The Women on Boards portal (https://www.csyw.qld.gov.au/campaign/women-boards) provides valuable resources and support for organisations who want to move towards gender equity on their board, as well as for women who are interested in joining a board. These resources include action plans, contemporary research, as well as details of the education, networking and mentoring opportunities required to support gender equity.

The Queensland Government is committed to ensuring women are represented at all levels of leadership, including on boards and committees for government bodies. Currently 46% of government board positions are filled by women, with an aim to increase this to 50% by 2020.

The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP,  Premier of Queensland and Minister for Trade is hosting Inspire and Inform: The Premier’s Women on Boards event to energise Queensland businesses, industry and communities to take up the challenge of gender parity by 2020.

You are invited to join the Premier at this networking event to discuss the way forward to reaching the Queensland Governments target. Attendees will be able to register their interest in future board opportunities at the event.
